Hello, everyone.
This is my first post on my professional website.
Today I wanted to talk about some of the reasons why I decided to create a professional website.
This is entirely personal but I hope it proves useful to you too.
1. Improving my social media presence
Creating a professional website feels like setting up your own store or business office because it is! It’s the headquarter for all of your professional activities whether they be books, courses, or the services you offer. If someone wants to know about who you are and what you do, they can simply go to your website and make things easier for them (and companies) to find you and potentially give you work or connect as professionals.
2. Running a blog
I’ve always loved the idea of writing in a blog since I was a teenager. My career has become my passion and I have a lot of things to say about it (mostly positives!). I also would like to educate the general public about my job as an interpreter (which I feel is greatly misunderstood by a lot of people). I simply love talking about interpretation and now that I have a blog where I can do that freely, my non-interpreter friends won’t have to listen to me talking about interpretation all the time!
3. Linking my books and study materials to my note-taking page
I’ve been creating a lot of courses and materials, and for somebody who is just discovering them, it may be overwhelming to try to find bits and pieces here and there, so I want to have a centric space where people can know everything that I’m doing in the note-taking realm.
4. Learning how to code
This is like an after-effect of creating this blog because, in the process of creating this website, I learned how to code using CSS (something that I thought was too complicated!) but, surprise! It’s easier than you may think! I also want to learn more about Javascript and other programming languages. I think knowing how to code can come in very handy when you are an educational content creator. After all, we live in the era of technology.

And that was all for today! Thank you for reading all this way and I will publish again very soon!
